It has been 16 years since Rakesh’s Bunty (not Abishek Bachchan) and Babli kaVimmi (now Rani Mukerji) robbed anyone living a happy family life. Until one day, YRF got the idea of an old-fashioned remake and now we have Bunty, Babli 2.0 in Kunal (Siddhant Chaturvedi), Sonia (Sharvari Wagh) to seduce and rob people. It must have been a difficult childhood for them as from thousands of inspiring figures around the world, they chose to follow collaborators and artists Bunty Aur Babli 2.
Jatayu (directly from Ludo Pankaj Tripathi) replaces Bachchan’s Dashrath as a detective and does what anyone else can do to him, captures Bunty and Babli and ties them to the seats set on the railway line. When the (half) OG couple found out about the newborns who tarnished their ‘name’, they decided to help the police catch the culprit. What happens next? You would not want to know.
Script Analysis of Bunty Aur Babli 2
Director Varun V. Sharma also wrote the story and it is an old story that says “Sometimes I will start a sentence (read: film), and I do not know where it is going. I hope I will find it along the way” a new war but the introduction of a careless vision. It removes everything its predecessor represented, from the construction of the right characters to the additional playing areas.
Even if part 1 was not a parameter, this would eventually resemble poor comedies with leading actors who have the power to transform the film. Some of the sequences sound as straightforward as the ideas rejected in the original. Avik Mukhopadhyay’s cinematography in part 1 shone brightly because of the landscapes in which they were shot. The whole Dubai series in this movie removes something new.
Saif Ali Khan is trying hard to fill Bachchan’s shoes in this regard. Although body language is completely different due to the 16-year leap, the expression seems to be sometimes used in Bunty Aur Babli 2 Movie.
Rani Mukerji’s Vimmi has always been a noisy actor but this time it bothered me a lot because of his ugly painting. With the exception of one or two real series, he was very noisy many times.
Before I got into it, I was expecting a lot from Siddhant Chaturvedi because he was a Gully Boy, but like all the other good characters on the list, he also fails to attract attention in vain.
Sharvari was powerless or something was holding him back which made the whole vibe of his character very dull. Even in the squares where he has to shout, he has tried very hard not to overdo it which is why it reduces the natural flow.
Pankaj Tripathi looks like he shot Ludo with this one at the same time. That would be commendable if his role were as humorous as Ludo. I do not remember the last time a certain film spoiled Pankaj Tripathi.
Direction, Music of Bunty Aur Babli 2
Varun V. Sharma loses structure during the first 30 minutes of the film. Even the first half hour we can stay afloat because of the remaining outer remains of part 1. You feel confident that the story will go well, but as it continues it becomes a slippery slope.
Keeping Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy in the original was probably the best decision made by the makers but even those who could not save the sinking ship. The negative text starts with a domino effect that destroys everything else in the film. With the exception of Luv Ju (and to some extent), not a single song stays that way. Only if you remember what the original songs were like.
