OTT platform ZEE5 has today announced its next film, which is titled ‘Kadak Singh’. This will be the second collaboration between National Award winning director Anirudh Roy Chowdhury and ZEE5 after the success of Yami Gautam’s film ‘Lost’. At the same time, this will be the third direct-to-digital collaboration between National Award winning actor Pankaj Tripathi and ZEE5. ‘Kadak Singh’ also stars Sanjana Sanghi, Jaya Ahsan, Parvathy Thiruvothu, Dilip Shankar, Paresh Pahuja and Varun Buddhadev in lead roles along with Pankaj Tripathi. The film is set to premiere on ZEE5 later this year.
‘Kadak Singh’ is a fascinating thriller full of mystery. The film shows the surprising journey of Pankaj Tripathi’s character AK Srivastava. He struggles with retrograde amnesia and uncovers a web of conflicting stories from his past. Pankaj Tripathi went live on Instagram two days ago, in which he looked a bit lost and confused and he ended the live suddenly, leaving people shocked.
Now the audience has understood the meaning of his live. Actually, he was giving hints to the audience about his new character. He was playing his amnesiac character live from the next film. It was an experience for the audience to see the character of the actor. A direct-to-digital film, Kadak Singh is scheduled to premiere on ZEE5 later this year.
Director Anirudh Roy Chowdhury said, “Kadak Singh is a special film and talks about the responsibility of a government official towards the common people. Pankaj Tripathi and Sanjana Sanghi have done a fantastic job in portraying this complex father daughter story. In fact, I was in heaven filled with great actors and colleagues including Parvathy and Jaya Ahsan, where each of them has truly crossed the limits to deliver a fantastic thriller.
He further said that the special thing about this film is that it has relationships in different forms and how these relationships provide different perspectives and help the story move forward. It is also about a dysfunctional family that comes into action after a series of events leads to a roller coaster of emotions. I hope the film enriches people, because it is a commentary on society.
